Procedures

Procedure #1:    Enter & Exit

“Enter” procedure
1.    Copy down the Daily Agenda into your Agenda book
2.    Copy down the Objective into your Agenda book
3.    Copy down the Homework into your Agenda book
4.    Start working on the Warm Up in your Warm up section of your IS Binder
5.    When you have completed your Warm Up be prepared for class discussion

“Exit” procedure
1.    “Binder Collectors” will indicate that it is time to leave
2.    Pick up trash in your immediate quarters
3.    Straighten books and stack them in the middle of your desk
4.    Straighten desks to maintain a sense of order
5.    WAIT to be dismissed by rows by the instructor

Procedure #2:    Passing papers

“Passing In” procedure
1.    Always pass your papers to the RIGHT of your Row
2.    The student sitting at the FAR RIGHT of the LAST ROW will be responsible for picking up all the papers at the end of each Row
3.    This student will then place the stack of papers in either CLASSWORK or HOMEWORK bins at the Student Center

“Passing Out” procedure
1.    The student sitting at the FAR LEFT of the FIRST ROW will be responsible for passing out all the papers
2.    Disperse the papers based on the number of students in each Row.
3.    IF a student is absent, place that student’s handout in the ABSENT BIN under your classes bin.  If there are 3 students absent, put 3 handouts in the bin.

Procedure #3:    Group Movement

“Quickly & Quietly” procedure
1.    Left first
2.    Ladies first
3.    Less than 15 seconds

Procedure #4:    Assistant Coaches

“Sharing is caring” procedure
1.    When you complete your work early, assist your table partner if he/she is still working AND/ONLY if he/she welcomes the assistance
2.    ONLY discuss the Content Material and NOT anything else that does not pertain to the Content Material

Sidenote:  If the activity structure is a pair share or group activity and you, yourself, have a question; ASK your partner FIRST, then ask your neighbor beside you before you ask the teacher.  The goal is for you to develop problem solving skills rather than being spoon fed the answer.

Procedure #5:    Binder Collectors

“Binder Collectors” procedure
1.    The term “Binder Collectors” will indicate that our day is coming to an end and the Binders need to be collected
2.    All Binders will be stored in class in the appropriate shelf designated for each class
